Prädikatswein
Prädikatswein is a classification of high-quality German wine, specifically from the Deutsches Weininstitut. It is part of the German wine classification system and is known for its strict quality standards. Prädikatswein is made from grapes that have reached a certain level of ripeness, measured by the Oechsle scale, which indicates the sugar content in the grapes.
There are six categories of Prädikatswein, ranging from Kabinett, which is light and crisp, to Trockenbeerenauslese, a rich and sweet dessert wine. Each category reflects the grape's ripeness and the wine's sweetness level, ensuring a diverse range of flavors and styles for wine enthusiasts.
