Powder Bed Fusion
Powder Bed Fusion is an additive manufacturing process that uses a laser or electron beam to selectively fuse powdered material, layer by layer, to create a three-dimensional object. This technique is commonly used with materials like metals, plastics, and ceramics, allowing for complex geometries that traditional manufacturing methods may not achieve.
During the process, a thin layer of powder is spread across a build platform. The energy source then scans the surface, melting the powder in specific areas according to a digital design. Once a layer is completed, the platform lowers, and another layer of powder is applied, repeating the process until the final object is formed.
