Pope Pelagius II
Pope Pelagius II served as the head of the Roman Catholic Church from 579 to 590 AD. He is known for his efforts to address the challenges faced by the Church during a time of political instability and the threat of invasion from the Lombards. Pelagius II worked to strengthen the Church's influence and improve its relations with the Byzantine Empire.
