Pope Innocent VII
Pope Innocent VII was the head of the Roman Catholic Church from 1404 to 1406. Born as Cosimo de' Migliorati in 1336, he became a cardinal before his papacy. His reign was marked by efforts to restore peace in Italy and address the challenges posed by the Western Schism, a period of division within the Church.
During his papacy, Innocent VII faced political struggles and the influence of powerful families in Rome. He worked to strengthen the authority of the papacy and sought to unify the Church. However, his time as pope was short-lived, as he died in 1406 after only two years in office.
