Pope Anterus
Pope Anterus was the 14th pope of the Roman Catholic Church, serving from around 235 to 236 AD. He is known for his brief papacy, which lasted only about a year. Anterus is often remembered for his efforts to organize the Church and for his role in the early Christian community during a time of persecution.
Anterus is believed to have been the first pope to officially document the names of Christian martyrs. His papacy occurred during the reign of Emperor Maximinus Thrax, who was known for his harsh treatment of Christians. Anterus was eventually succeeded by Pope Fabian.
