Popcorn Sutton
Popcorn Sutton was an American moonshiner and distiller known for his traditional methods of producing homemade whiskey. Born in 1946 in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, he gained fame for his skills in crafting moonshine, a type of illicitly produced alcohol. Sutton became a cultural icon in the Appalachian region, often celebrated for his rebellious spirit and connection to the area's rich distilling history.
In addition to his moonshining activities, Sutton appeared on the reality television show Moonshiners, which showcased the lives of modern-day distillers. He authored a book titled "Me and My Likker," sharing his experiences and recipes. Sutton passed away in 2009, leaving behind a legacy in the world of homemade spirits.
