Polish Resistance Movement
The Polish Resistance Movement was a collective effort by Polish citizens to oppose and fight against the occupation of Poland during World War II. This movement included various groups, such as the Home Army (Armia Krajowa), which was the largest underground military organization in Nazi-occupied Europe. The resistance engaged in sabotage, intelligence gathering, and armed conflict to undermine the German forces.
The movement also aimed to preserve Polish culture and identity in the face of oppression. Many members risked their lives to protect Jewish citizens and assist in their escape from the Holocaust. The resistance played a crucial role in the eventual liberation of Poland, although the country faced significant challenges in the post-war period.
