Zegota
Zegota was a secret organization established in Poland during World War II to aid Jews facing persecution by the Nazis. Formed in 1942, it provided various forms of assistance, including shelter, food, and false documents, to help Jewish individuals escape the Holocaust. The organization was made up of Polish citizens, both Jewish and non-Jewish, who risked their lives to save others.
Zegota operated under the auspices of the Polish government-in-exile and was the only organization of its kind in occupied Europe. Its efforts were crucial in saving thousands of lives, showcasing the bravery and solidarity of those who opposed the Nazi regime.
