Pokhran Tests
The Pokhran Tests refer to a series of nuclear tests conducted by India at the Pokhran Test Range in Rajasthan. The first set of tests, known as Pokhran-I, took place in 1974 and marked India's entry into the group of nuclear-capable nations. The tests demonstrated India's ability to develop and detonate a nuclear device.
In 1998, India conducted a second series of tests, called Pokhran-II, which included five detonations. These tests solidified India's status as a nuclear power and were met with international scrutiny and sanctions. The Pokhran Tests remain a significant milestone in India's defense and scientific capabilities.
