Pipilo
Pipilo is a genus of birds commonly known as towhees, which are part of the family Emberizidae. These birds are primarily found in North America and are recognized for their distinctive calls and vibrant plumage. Towhees typically inhabit shrubby areas, forests, and gardens, where they forage for seeds and insects on the ground.
The most well-known species within the Pipilo genus is the Eastern Towhee, characterized by its striking black, white, and rufous coloration. Another notable species is the California Towhee, which has a more muted brown appearance. Towhees are often seen hopping around on the ground, searching for food and making their presence known with their loud, melodic songs.
