Eastern Towhee
The Eastern Towhee is a medium-sized bird native to eastern North America. It features a striking black head, back, and wings, with a white belly and rust-colored sides. Males and females have different plumage, with females being more brownish overall. They are often found in shrubby areas, gardens, and woodlands.
Eastern Towhees are known for their distinctive call, which sounds like "drink-your-tea." They primarily feed on seeds, insects, and berries, foraging on the ground by scratching with their feet. These birds are often seen alone or in small groups, especially during the breeding season.
