Towhee
The Towhee is a medium-sized bird belonging to the family Emberizidae. It is commonly found in North America, particularly in wooded areas, brushy habitats, and gardens. Towhees are known for their distinctive calls and striking plumage, which often includes a combination of black, white, and rusty red colors.
There are several species of Towhee, including the Eastern Towhee and the Spotted Towhee. These birds primarily feed on seeds, insects, and berries. They are ground foragers, often scratching the leaf litter to uncover food. Towhees are also known for their unique behavior of hopping rather than walking.
