Pioneer 11 was a space probe launched by NASA on April 6, 1973. Its primary mission was to study the planet Jupiter and its moons, as well as to gather data about the solar system's outer regions. Pioneer 11 was the first spacecraft to travel through the asteroid belt and make a flyby of Jupiter, providing valuable information about the planet's atmosphere, magnetic field, and radiation belts.
After its successful mission to Jupiter, Pioneer 11 continued its journey toward Saturn, where it made a close approach in September 1979. The spacecraft sent back detailed images and data about Saturn and its rings, contributing significantly to our understanding of these celestial bodies. Pioneer 11 eventually became the first human-made object to enter interstellar space.
