Pikuni
The term "Pikuni" refers to one of the three main divisions of the Blackfoot Nation, an Indigenous people in North America. The Pikuni, also known as the Piegan, primarily reside in the northern Great Plains, particularly in areas of present-day Montana and Alberta. They have a rich cultural heritage, including traditional practices, languages, and social structures.
Historically, the Pikuni were nomadic buffalo hunters, relying on the vast herds of bison for sustenance and materials. Their lifestyle was closely tied to the land, and they developed a deep spiritual connection to nature. Today, the Pikuni continue to preserve their traditions while also engaging with modern society.
