Pico de Orizaba
Pico de Orizaba is the highest mountain in Mexico and the third highest in North America, standing at 5,636 meters (18,491 feet) above sea level. It is a dormant stratovolcano located on the border between the states of Puebla and Veracruz. The mountain is part of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt and is known for its snow-capped peak, which is visible year-round.
The volcano is also known as Citlaltépetl in the Nahuatl language, meaning "star mountain." It is a popular destination for climbers and hikers, offering various routes to the summit. The surrounding area features diverse ecosystems, including forests and alpine tundra, making it a significant site for biodiversity.
