Iztaccíhuatl
Iztaccíhuatl is a dormant volcano located in central Mexico, part of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It stands at approximately 5,230 meters (17,160 feet) above sea level, making it the third-highest peak in Mexico. The name "Iztaccíhuatl" means "white woman" in the Nahuatl language, referring to its snow-capped summit that resembles a sleeping woman.
The mountain is often climbed by hikers and mountaineers, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It is located near the more famous Popocatépetl volcano, which is an active volcano. Together, they are significant in both natural beauty and cultural mythology in Mexico.
