Philippine Assembly
The Philippine Assembly was established in 1907 as the first legislative body of the Philippines under American colonial rule. It was part of the broader governance structure set up by the United States following the Spanish-American War. The Assembly consisted of elected representatives who were responsible for creating laws and addressing issues affecting the Filipino people.
The Assembly operated until 1935, when it was replaced by the National Assembly under the newly established Commonwealth of the Philippines. This transition marked a significant step towards greater self-governance for the Philippines, leading to eventual independence from American rule.
