Philip of Swabia
Philip of Swabia was a German king and a member of the House of Hohenstaufen, born in 1177. He became King of Germany in 1198, during a time of political turmoil and conflict over the throne. His reign was marked by struggles against rival factions, particularly the supporters of Otto IV, who was also vying for the crown.
Philip was known for his efforts to strengthen the authority of the monarchy and maintain peace within the empire. He was married to Ingeborg of Denmark, which helped to solidify alliances. His reign ended when he was assassinated in 1208, leading to further instability in the region.
