Pewenche
The Pewenche are an indigenous group located in the southern region of Chile, primarily in the Biobío Region. They are part of the larger Mapuche culture and have their own distinct language, known as Pewenche, which is a dialect of the Mapudungun language. Traditionally, the Pewenche people have relied on agriculture, livestock herding, and fishing for their livelihoods.
Pewenche society is characterized by a strong connection to their ancestral lands and natural resources. They maintain cultural practices that include traditional music, dance, and crafts, which reflect their rich heritage. The Pewenche community continues to advocate for their rights and preservation of their cultural identity in the face of modern challenges.
