Petit Mal Seizure
A Petit Mal Seizure, also known as an absence seizure, is a type of seizure that primarily affects children. During this brief episode, which typically lasts only a few seconds, the person may appear to be staring blankly or may have subtle movements, such as blinking. They usually do not respond to external stimuli during the seizure.
These seizures are often so short that they can go unnoticed, but they can occur multiple times a day. Petit Mal Seizures are generally not associated with convulsions and can be managed with medication. Early diagnosis and treatment are important for effective management.
