Peter II of Bulgaria
Peter II of Bulgaria was the last reigning monarch of the Kingdom of Bulgaria, serving from 1943 until 1946. Born on 8th January 1934, he ascended to the throne at a young age after the death of his father, Boris III. His reign was marked by the challenges of World War II and the subsequent political changes in Eastern Europe.
In 1946, following a referendum, Bulgaria was declared a republic, leading to the abolition of the monarchy. Peter II went into exile, living in various countries, including France and Spain, until his death on 30th March 2010. His life reflects the turbulent history of Bulgaria during the mid-20th century.
