Peoples' Democratic Party
The Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) is a major political party in Nigeria. Founded in 1998, it emerged from the pro-democracy movement that sought to end military rule in the country. The party has played a significant role in Nigeria's political landscape, winning several elections and producing notable leaders, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
PDP's ideology centers on promoting democracy, social justice, and economic development. The party has a broad membership base and aims to represent diverse interests across Nigeria's various regions. Over the years, it has faced challenges, including internal conflicts and competition from other parties like the All Progressives Congress (APC).
