People's Democratic Reform Committee
The People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) was a political movement in Thailand that emerged in 2013. It aimed to reform the political system and reduce the influence of Thaksin Shinawatra, a former prime minister, and his affiliated parties. The PDRC organized large-scale protests, advocating for a more democratic governance structure and the resignation of then-Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
The PDRC was led by Suthep Thaugsuban, a former deputy prime minister, and sought to establish a "people's council" to oversee political reforms. The movement was marked by significant public demonstrations and was a key player in the political turmoil that led to the military coup in 2014.
