Yingluck Shinawatra
Yingluck Shinawatra is a Thai politician who served as the Prime Minister of Thailand from 2011 to 2014. She was the first woman to hold this position in the country. Yingluck is the younger sister of Thaksin Shinawatra, a former Prime Minister who was ousted in a military coup in 2006.
During her time in office, Yingluck focused on various policies, including rice subsidies and healthcare reforms. Her government faced significant challenges, including political protests and economic issues, which ultimately led to her removal from office by a Constitutional Court ruling in 2014.
