Pasty
A pasty is a type of baked pastry that is typically filled with meat, vegetables, and seasonings. Originating from Cornwall, England, it was traditionally made for miners as a portable meal. The crust is crimped on one side, allowing for easy handling and eating without utensils.
The classic Cornish pasty usually contains ingredients like beef, potatoes, swede (rutabaga), and onions. Over time, variations have emerged, including vegetarian and sweet versions. Pasties are often enjoyed as a snack or a hearty meal and are popular in various regions, especially in the UK and parts of the United States.
