Partidul Național Țărănesc
The Partidul Național Țărănesc (National Peasant Party) was a political party in Romania founded in 1926. It emerged from the merger of the Țărănesc Party and the National Party, aiming to represent the interests of the rural population and promote agrarian reform. The party played a significant role in Romanian politics during the interwar period, advocating for peasant rights and social justice.
The party was led by notable figures such as Iuliu Maniu and Nicolae Titulescu. It faced challenges during the rise of authoritarian regimes in the late 1930s and was eventually banned in 1947 after the establishment of the communist regime in Romania. Despite its dissolution, the party's legacy continues to influence Romanian political thought.
