Iuliu Maniu
Iuliu Maniu was a prominent Romanian politician and leader of the National Peasant Party during the early 20th century. Born on January 8, 1873, in Bihor County, he played a significant role in Romania's political landscape, particularly during the interwar period. Maniu was known for his advocacy of democracy and his efforts to promote agrarian reform.
Throughout his career, Maniu served as Prime Minister of Romania multiple times, notably from 1928 to 1930. He was a staunch opponent of authoritarian regimes and worked to maintain Romania's democratic institutions. Maniu's political activities continued until his arrest by the communist regime, leading to his imprisonment until his death on February 5, 1953.
