Pantanal wetlands
The Pantanal wetlands are one of the largest tropical wetland areas in the world, located primarily in Brazil, but also extending into Bolivia and Paraguay. Covering around 150,000 square kilometers, this unique ecosystem is characterized by its seasonal flooding, which supports a rich diversity of plant and animal life.
Home to thousands of species, the Pantanal is known for its vibrant wildlife, including the Jaguar, Capybara, and numerous bird species. The wetlands play a crucial role in maintaining regional biodiversity and provide essential resources for local communities, making them an important area for conservation efforts.
