Pansori
Pansori is a traditional Korean musical storytelling genre that combines singing and narration. It typically features a solo singer, known as a sori, accompanied by a drummer playing a buk, a traditional Korean drum. The performances often convey historical tales, folklore, or moral lessons, engaging audiences with their emotional depth and dramatic expression.
The art form is characterized by its unique vocal techniques and expressive gestures, allowing the performer to convey a wide range of emotions. Pansori has been recognized as an important cultural heritage of South Korea, and it was designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2010.
