Pacific Loon
The Pacific Loon is a medium-sized waterbird found primarily in the northern regions of North America and Asia. It is known for its striking black and white plumage during the breeding season, which helps it blend into its aquatic environment. This bird is an excellent diver, using its streamlined body to catch fish and other marine life.
During migration, the Pacific Loon travels to coastal waters, where it can be seen in both saltwater and freshwater habitats. It is often spotted in groups, especially during the winter months. The Pacific Loon is part of the family Gaviidae, which includes other loons like the Common Loon and the Arctic Loon.
