Paanchayat
Panchayat is a system of local self-government in rural areas of India. It is responsible for making decisions on various community issues, including development, infrastructure, and social welfare. The Panchayat consists of elected representatives from the village, who work together to address the needs and concerns of the local population.
The Panchayat system is structured in three tiers: the Gram Panchayat at the village level, the Panchayat Samiti at the block level, and the Zila Parishad at the district level. This decentralized governance allows for better participation of villagers in decision-making processes and promotes grassroots democracy.
