PCI-SIG
PCI-SIG, or the PCI Special Interest Group, is an organization responsible for developing and maintaining the PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) standards. Founded in 1992, it includes major technology companies that collaborate to ensure compatibility and performance in computer hardware and peripherals.
The PCI standards facilitate communication between a computer's motherboard and its attached devices, such as graphics cards and storage drives. Over the years, PCI-SIG has introduced various versions, including PCIe (PCI Express), which significantly enhances data transfer speeds and efficiency in modern computing systems.
