Ottoman Parliament
The Ottoman Parliament was established in 1876 during the reign of Sultan Abdulhamid II. It marked the beginning of a constitutional monarchy in the Ottoman Empire, allowing for a more representative form of governance. The parliament consisted of two chambers: the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, which worked together to create laws and discuss national issues.
The first session of the Ottoman Parliament took place in March 1877, but it was suspended by Abdulhamid II later that year. It was not until 1908, during the Young Turk Revolution, that the parliament was restored and became more influential in the empire's political landscape.
