Otho
Otho was a Roman Emperor who ruled for a brief period in 69 AD, during a year known as the Year of the Four Emperors. He was born in 32 AD and initially served as a governor and military leader. Otho came to power after the suicide of Emperor Nero, claiming the throne with the support of the Praetorian Guard.
His reign lasted only about three months, ending when he was defeated by the forces of Vitellius, another contender for the throne. After his defeat, Otho chose to take his own life rather than face capture. His short rule is often noted for the instability of the Roman Empire during that tumultuous year.
