Osteopathic Physicians
Osteopathic Physicians, or DOs, are fully licensed medical doctors who focus on a holistic approach to patient care. They receive training in all aspects of medicine, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. In addition to conventional medical practices, DOs emphasize the body's ability to heal itself and often incorporate manual therapy techniques.
Like their allopathic counterparts, MDs, DOs can specialize in various fields, prescribe medications, and perform surgeries. They complete a four-year medical school program followed by residency training. Osteopathic medicine is recognized in many countries, promoting a comprehensive view of health that considers physical, emotional, and social factors.
