Orodes I
Orodes I was a king of the Parthian Empire, ruling from around 57 to 38 BCE. He was a member of the Arsacid dynasty and is known for his conflicts with the Roman Republic, particularly against Marcus Licinius Crassus during the Battle of Carrhae in 53 BCE, which resulted in a significant Roman defeat.
During his reign, Orodes I faced internal challenges, including revolts and power struggles within the Parthian nobility. His rule is marked by efforts to consolidate power and maintain the empire's influence in the region, especially against rival powers like Rome and the Seleucid Empire.
