Organic Pigments
Organic pigments are colorants derived from natural sources, such as plants, animals, and minerals. They are composed of carbon-based molecules, which give them vibrant colors and excellent lightfastness. Common examples include chlorophyll from green plants and carotenoids found in carrots and other vegetables.
These pigments are widely used in various applications, including art supplies, cosmetics, and food coloring. Unlike synthetic pigments, organic pigments are often considered more environmentally friendly, as they can be biodegradable and less toxic. Their unique properties make them valuable in creating a range of colors and effects in different products.
