Oresund Link
The Oresund Link is a combined road and rail bridge-tunnel system that connects Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, to Malmö, a city in Sweden. Opened in 2000, it spans approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) across the Oresund Strait, facilitating transportation and trade between the two countries.
The structure consists of a bridge, which is about 8 kilometers (5 miles) long, and a tunnel that extends beneath the water. The Oresund Link has significantly improved travel times and economic ties, allowing for easier commuting and fostering regional cooperation in the Scandinavian area.
