Oresund Bridge
The Oresund Bridge is a combined road and rail bridge that connects Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, to Malmö, a city in Sweden. Spanning approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles), it features a bridge section and a tunnel, allowing for both vehicle and train traffic. The bridge was officially opened in 2000 and has since become a vital transportation link between the two countries.
The structure consists of a series of spans and a tunnel called the Oresund Tunnel, which runs beneath the Oresund Strait. The bridge is an engineering marvel, designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and heavy traffic. It has significantly improved travel and trade between Denmark and Sweden.
