Order Of New Zealand
The Order of New Zealand is the highest civilian honor awarded by the government of New Zealand. Established in 1987, it recognizes individuals for their exceptional contributions to the nation, including achievements in various fields such as public service, arts, and sciences. The order is limited to a maximum of 20 living members, ensuring its exclusivity and prestige.
Members of the Order of New Zealand are appointed by the Governor-General on the advice of the Prime Minister. The honor is conferred during a formal ceremony, and recipients are entitled to use the post-nominal letters "ONZ" after their names, signifying their distinguished status.
