Old Turkic script
The Old Turkic script is an ancient writing system used by the Turkic peoples, primarily during the 8th to 10th centuries. It is one of the earliest known scripts for Turkic languages and was primarily used for inscriptions on stone monuments, known as Orkhon inscriptions. The script consists of characters that represent both consonants and vowels, making it an alphabetic system.
This script was discovered in the Orkhon Valley of Mongolia, where significant archaeological findings revealed its use. The Old Turkic script is important for understanding the history and culture of early Turkic societies, as it provides insights into their language, beliefs, and social structure.
