Orkhon Inscriptions
The Orkhon Inscriptions are a set of ancient Turkic inscriptions found in the Orkhon Valley of Mongolia. Dating back to the 8th century, they are among the earliest known examples of Turkic writing. The inscriptions commemorate the achievements of the Göktürks, a prominent Turkic state, and provide valuable insights into their culture, language, and history.
These inscriptions are carved on stone monuments and include texts that honor important leaders, such as Bilge Khagan and his brother Kül Tigin. They are significant for understanding the development of the Turkic language and the early Turkic peoples' social and political structures.
