Oilbird
The Oilbird is a unique nocturnal bird found primarily in the caves of northern South America and the Caribbean. It is known for its distinctive oil-rich diet, which consists mainly of the fruit of the palmae family, particularly oil palms. The bird has a brownish plumage with white spots and is about 30 to 40 centimeters long.
Oilbirds are remarkable for their echolocation abilities, allowing them to navigate in complete darkness. They have large eyes adapted for low-light conditions and can be seen flying out of caves at dusk to forage for food. Their unique adaptations make them one of the few bird species that can echolocate.
