Ohlone People
The Ohlone People are a group of Native American tribes originally inhabiting the central coast of California, particularly the San Francisco Bay Area. They lived in diverse environments, including coastal regions, valleys, and hills, and relied on fishing, hunting, and gathering for sustenance. Their society was organized into smaller bands, each with its own territory and resources.
Traditionally, the Ohlone people spoke several dialects of the Ohlone language and had rich cultural practices, including basket weaving and storytelling. Their connection to the land and natural resources was central to their identity, and they developed a deep understanding of local ecosystems.
