Oenothera
Oenothera, commonly known as evening primrose, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Onagraceae. These plants are native to the Americas and are recognized for their bright yellow flowers that typically bloom in the evening. Oenothera species are often found in a variety of habitats, including meadows, grasslands, and disturbed areas.
Many species of Oenothera are cultivated for their ornamental value and for their seeds, which are rich in oil. This oil is often used in dietary supplements due to its high content of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), a fatty acid believed to have health benefits.
