Oeneus
Oeneus was a figure from Greek mythology, known as the king of Calydon in Aetolia. He was the son of Porthaon and Euryte and is often associated with the famous hunt of the Calydonian Boar, which was sent by the goddess Artemis as punishment for his neglect of her.
Oeneus was also the father of several notable children, including Deianira and Meleager. His story highlights themes of heroism and tragedy, particularly through the events surrounding the boar hunt and the subsequent consequences for his family and kingdom.
