Occitan language
The Occitan language is a Romance language spoken primarily in the southern regions of France, as well as parts of Italy and Spain. It has several dialects, including Provençal, Languedocien, and Gascon, reflecting the diverse cultural heritage of the areas where it is spoken.
Occitan has a rich literary tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, with notable poets like Francesc Eiximenis and Guillaume IX. Although it has experienced a decline in speakers over the years, efforts are being made to revive and promote the language through education and cultural initiatives.
