OUN
OUN, or the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, was a political organization founded in 1929. Its primary goal was to promote Ukrainian independence and sovereignty, particularly in the context of the struggles against Polish and Soviet control. The OUN played a significant role in the Ukrainian nationalist movement, advocating for the rights and self-determination of the Ukrainian people.
The OUN is often associated with its more radical faction, known as the OUN-B, led by Stefan Bandera. This faction took a militant approach to achieve its goals, especially during World War II. The organization’s activities and ideologies have been the subject of much debate and controversy, particularly regarding its relationships with various political regimes and its role in wartime events.
