Nudges
A "nudge" is a concept in behavioral economics that refers to subtle changes in the way choices are presented to people, encouraging them to make better decisions without restricting their options. For example, placing healthy foods at eye level in a cafeteria can lead to healthier eating habits, as it makes those options more visible and appealing.
Nudges are based on the idea that human behavior is often influenced by cognitive biases and social norms. By understanding these influences, policymakers and organizations can design environments that promote positive behaviors, such as saving for retirement or reducing energy consumption, without imposing mandates or penalties.
