Northern Zazaki
Northern Zazaki is a dialect of the Zaza language, primarily spoken in eastern Turkey. It is part of the Iranian languages group and is used by the Zaza people, who have a rich cultural heritage. The dialect is characterized by its unique phonetic and grammatical features, distinguishing it from other regional languages.
The Northern Zazaki-speaking population mainly resides in the provinces of Tunceli, Elazığ, and Bingöl. Despite its historical significance, Northern Zazaki faces challenges, including a decline in speakers and limited official recognition. Efforts are being made to preserve and promote the language through education and cultural initiatives.
